for a while

i’ve felt like i’ve been trapped

trapped in a room all alone

surrounded by cameras

on the other side of the wall

are people watching me

watching my every move through the cameras

until refently

i didn’t know how to turn them off

i didn’t know how to escape

but now

the cameras are off

i am free

i can be on the other side of the wall

i am no longer alone

marble walls

marble walls enclose my secrets

my thoughts

my emotions

hidden from everyone but myself

they chip and crack

but they don’t fall down

no matter how hard i try

they are rock solid

whether i want them to be or not

marble walls enclose my secrets

but what if i don’t want them to?

my current favorite songs

For today’s post, I’m going to share some of my current favorite music. I don’t really have a particular favorite artist or genre, but I tend to listen to indie and pop music the most.

My Current Favorite Songs

Doin’ Time by Lana Del Rey

Don’t Start Now by Dua Lipa

i hope for rain by Elliot

Tell Me by Sabrina Claudio

Blinding Lights by The Weeknd

Do It To Myself by Nova Miller

i hope for rain has quickly become one of my favorite songs. I’ve been following the artist, Elliot, on Instagram for a few years and I’m so happy he finally released music! I love the soft-pop style of his music, and all of his songs are amazing.

Today I discovered Sabrina Claudio and I can’t believe I hadn’t ever heard of her music before. Not even kidding, I added 31 of her songs to my December playlist today.

I also have been really liking The Weeknd’s new song Blinding Lights and Dua Lipa’s new song Don’t Start Now. My dad actually recommended Dua Lipa’s song, and I really like it!

One of my favorite songs I’ve loved for a few months now is Doin’ Time by Lana Del Rey. It’s honestly just a great song.

Hopefully you all enjoyed this post! If you’re interested in more of what I’m currently listening to, I’ll definitely do more posts like this. See you all soon for another post!

writing a poem with six words

I’m going to attempt to write a poem using only six different words… yeah you read that right. I looked up some of the most common words found in poetry and I’m going to use six of those to write my own poem. I can only use those six words plus extra connecting words such as “the” or “of” and two randomly chosen verbs. The six words I chose are “time”, “love”, “day”, “night”, “world”, and “light”. The verbs that were chosen for me were “alert” and “fill”.

light alerts the world

the day fills me up

the time of love

night fills the sky

the world is lost

love is lost

Hopefully you enjoyed that little challenge, it was definitely fun to do! The only “cheat” I did was adding in the word “lost”, because I felt like I didn’t have any descriptive words. This challenge will be something I will definitely try again, and I’ll see you all soon for another post!
